Envirosafe Termite & Pest

Fornication VS Formication. Which one you should be concerned with?

Hopefully neither of these terms affect your life. Formication should never be confused with fornication. One is the delusional belief that you have insects crawling all over (and under) your skin: the other is a Sin (I think??). If the two sensations are combined you should consult either a doctor, or maybe a priest, but NOT Envirosafe Termite & pest control  in Charlotte North Carolina. Either way, Jarrod Goforth nor myself will not be able to help you if you think either of these terms are problematic in your life.

I can’t count the number of times Envirosafe gets calls from a customer apparently suffering from Ekbom Syndrome. (Delusional parasitosis) (look it up). There is absolutely nothing Envirosafe Termite & Pest can do for you. Couple interesting facts concerning Formication is the fact that it’s derived from Formica, the Latin word for ant. Additionally, the only arthropods that infest humans are scabies mites and human lice. NO insect or mite can live in the Environment and switch to infesting the human body. Sadly, we encounter many clients each year who I can confirm with authority have delusional parasitosis.

We abate asbestos, remediate mold, mitigate radon, perform environmental pest control services and even have quite a collection of air scrubbers and ozone machines for mold spores and other airborne contaminants, but unfortunately, imaginary parasites are not part of our Environmental Services scope of work. Referring these clients to a medical doctor is not what they want to hear, but it’s the only option we have. -Rodney Allman CIE, Envirosafe Environmental Services www.charlotteasbestosandmoldremoval.com 704-392-2241

Many clients seek out pest control professionals for their delusional parasitis. We get our fair share here at Envirosafe Termite and Pest

Envirosafe was called out to this facility which is rumored to have been built over an ancient Indian burial ground, and according to one of the staff members, “all kinds of unfortunate things have happened on this property”,  including the mysterious mold on the walls of the office. The office manager’s explanation is that she thinks they’re cursed. We at Envirosafe are looking for a more scientific explanation, such as water events, humidity issues, moisture problems in crawl space, or an HVAC unit that may be too big for their office which in turn blasts hot/cold air and knocks off quickly creating excess humidity. Updates on our finding to follow in future blog posts, but for now, two of the office employees are complaining diligently because they are experiencing symptoms such are breathing difficulty, respiratory infections, headaches, and eye irritation. Symptoms which they say subside when they leave the building. To learn more about mold and our remediation process, go to our website at www.charlotteasbestosandmoldremoval.com or www.pestcontrolcharlotte.net.  The short video below is shows the mysterious mold. Unfortunately, I could not get the rest of my interview with the building occupants to upload.

Envirosafe is much more than an environmental pest control firm. We protect home, health, and the Environment with services including radon mitigation, asbestos abatement, lead paint abatement, toxic mold remediation and even demo and underground storage tank removal. Our website for Environmental Services other that pest contol is www.charlotteasbestosandmoldremoval.com  otherwise our general website for pest control is www.pestcontrolcharlotte.net or www.charlotte-pestcontrol.com

Very often our services will overlap. Case in point this project in Locust, North Carolina where, as you guys can see in the video, Jarrod Goforth of Home Spectors demonstrates significant termite damage to a structure. This damage was revealed after our firm removed all the asbestos siding. Mold, Carpenter ants and oddly enough, an infestation of fleas from vermin entering the crawl space. The fleas were so bad, they were getting underneath our tyvek suits and making meals out of our environmental workers. Below is the video we made at the project to demonstrate just how badly termites can damage a structure. Incredibly, just five years ago, calls into our office about Bed Bugs, Kudzu Bugs, Asian Needle Ants and Marmorated Stink Bugs were nonexistent. Fast forward to 2012. The year of the Bug in Belmont, North Carolina. Our Catawba Street office has seen Marmorated Stink Bugs fly inside on sunny days as have we seen the Kudzu Bugs. Asian Needle Ants, which are described by many entomologist as Fire Ants on Steroids have made nests under the pavement on the south side of our office and while we haven’t yet been invaded by Bed Bugs in the office, they are epidemic now and we’ve treated countless numbers of homes in Belmont and Gaston County and treat several houses a week in Charlotte from the hundreds of customers who find us online at www.gastoniapestcontrol.com or   www.charlottebedbugcontrol.us   or   www.pestcontrolcharlotte.net

Below, I posted a picture of the Marmorated Stink Bug that flew in our office and also a video of a kudzu bug which likewise ventured into our Catawba Street office. We have treated several homes for both of these pests and get calls often from panicked homeowners. Both are major agricultural pests but are only an annoying occasional invader in our homes. Neither bite, but I suppose the goats The City of Belmont hired to destroy the Kudzu patch nearby to our office did not get the job done. What will be the next invasive species of pests to invade Belmont North Carolina? We will be ready, providing the safest, most environmentally friendly solutions that are safe for your family, your home, and your pets.

The Marmorated Stink Bug

Our Yorkie-Poo, “Snickers” has passed the dumb dog test and I’m begging the question, “will that dog hunt”? As in “hunt” for bedbugs.

Training a pedigree is one thing but sinking a couple grand in a “designer dog”, (fancy name for a mongrel mutt), is definitely a risk. I’ve worked with Snickers and he seems to be a fast learner. I like that he’s small enough to get up under beds and such and have decided to send him off to get a doggieedumacation and earn his own keep by being our company bedbug detection dog.  If he fails, he’s still cute enough to be the Envirosafe Mascot. Wish us luck!!!!

Sadly, this funny video of a termite letter being forged has happened to us when a Charlotte Real Estate Agent forged one of our (WDIR) Wood Destroying Insect Reports in an attempt to update a six month old report. We thought this video to be hilarious and thought we would share it with the pest control industry and followers of our blog.
